One check. Everything your client file needs.
Most firms piece together separate ID, address, sanctions and PEP checks. One TrueFortis check covers them all, for one price.
£4.99 per person, excluding VAT
Adding a company is free. You pay for each director or beneficial owner you check, when the link is sent rather than when they finish it.
For every person
| What is checked | Why it matters | Helps you meet | Who does it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo ID document | Confirms the client's full name, photograph and date of birth, and checks the document for signs of forgery. | Regulation 28, HMRC AMLG11400 | Your client, on their phone |
| Selfie match | Shows the person holding the document is the person in the photo, not someone using stolen ID. | HMRC AMLG11400 | Your client, on their phone |
| Home address | HMRC's guidance says the residential address must be verified, as well as name, photo and date of birth. | HMRC AMLG11400 | Your client, on their phone |
| Sanctions screening | Checks the client against the UK Sanctions List and international lists, so you know if you need to report to OFSI. | OFSI guidance, UK Sanctions List | Checked automatically |
| PEP screening | Flags politically exposed persons, their family members and known close associates, who need enhanced due diligence. | Regulation 35 | Checked automatically |
| Purpose of the work | Two plain questions record what you will do for the client and why, as the Regulations require. | Regulation 28(2)(c) | You confirm |
| Risk level | TrueFortis suggests low, medium or high from the results. You confirm or change it, so the judgement stays yours. | CCAB guidance, chapter 4 | You confirm |
| 12 months of ongoing screening | Sanctions and PEP status can change after you take a client on. We screen again and tell you if anything changes. | Regulation 28(11) | Checked automatically |
| A record for your file | One PDF with every result, date and time, ready for your file and your supervisor. | Regulation 40 | Checked automatically |
For a company
| What is checked | Why it matters | Helps you meet | Who does it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company details | Name, company number, registered office and officers, checked against Companies House. | Regulation 28(3) | Checked automatically |
| Directors and beneficial owners | Each person gets the full individual check above. HMRC says the PSC register alone is not enough to verify beneficial owners. | Regulation 28(4), HMRC AMLG11400 | Your client, on their phone |
| Register discrepancies | Where what you find doesn't match Companies House, the record shows it so you can decide whether it must be reported. | Regulation 30A | You confirm |
Example
A limited company with four directors, who are also its owners, is four checks. The company itself is free: we read its details, directors and owners from Companies House at no charge. That is 4 × £4.99 = £19.96, excluding VAT.
What stays with you
TrueFortis gives you the evidence and a clear record. Under the Regulations some decisions can only be made by your firm:
- whether to take on the client;
- your firm wide risk assessment, policies and training;
- any enhanced due diligence and senior management approval for higher risk clients;
- reports to OFSI, and suspicious activity reports to the National Crime Agency through your MLRO.
